Phil Goode is an amateur photographer based in the south of this lovely island. Years ago, he decided to take up photography as a way to express his love of the great outdoors. This love shines through in all of Phil’s work, and today’s Photo of the Day is no exception.
This shot brings back memories of tranquil Laborie, a village Island Scene 758 called home for almost two years. Laborians are known all across Saint Lucia as some of the friendliest people one can ever meet, and this same sense of openness, welcome and invitation is present in this photo. Fishing is still central to the lives of the many fisherfolk who practice their craft, and the photo captures the sense of that importance, with the massive jetty structure in the foreground, and the village almost hidden behind the coconut trees.
